“I planted the seed, Apollos watered it, but God made it grow.” (I Corinthians 3:6)
O God, you have called us to be fishers of people, to be planters, waterers, harvesters. You have entrusted us with so much. But you are the fish maker, the seed provider, the rain giver. You have made the fields ripen. Please, Lord, humble our hearts. Keep us from counting the fish, taking credit for the rain, feeling smug about the harvest. Do not let us forget that who we are and what we do is wholly dependent upon you.
We give you our time, our sweat, our egos.
Give us harmony as we work together.
Grant us purity of heart.
Gather the fruit of our labor for your glory alone.
Cover the dinner table with paper and crayons. Have everyone present draw a picture of how God provides.
