STEVE WIMMER, LEAD PASTOR

One of my favorite words in the English language is abundance. Abundance refers to a condition in which there is more than enough of what makes our lives good. Where God is present (and where isn't God present?) and hearts are open, there is more than enough love, more than enough community, beauty and goodness. I was drawn to South Meridian, where I have served as lead pastor since October of 2018, because I sensed that there was a yearning here to walk in abundance, to know God and make God known. I am grateful for this congregation's commitments to seek God's kingdom here in Madison County and in the Avondale neighborhood of Anderson in particular.

Dawn and I began our journey together here in Anderson while I was a student at Anderson School of Theology and she had recently graduated from Anderson University. We were married in 1987 and have served churches together in Wyoming, Arizona, Michigan, and of course Indiana. We love to spend time with our 3 adult children, our son-in law, and our perfect granddaughter. We both enjoy traveling, reading, hiking, and hanging out with friends.
